Duck and Pinot - Winter Solstice Lunch @Kiltynane Wines
Where: 43-53 Nye Road, Swan bay Victoria 3225
Winter Solstice Lunch at Kiltynane Wines presents Duck and Pinot.
Kiltynane Wines has a strong respect for the seasons and following Biodynamic principles in the vineyard and edible garden. This involves growing premium grapes and produce based on the terroir home base at Basils Farm, located on the shores of Swan Bay, on the Bellarine Peninsula.
Biodynamic farming embraces the change of the seasons and the winter solstice is the moment when the earthly forces dominate the sun forces because the night is longest and the day is shortest.
This year the winter solstice falls on the 21st June, when the Sun reaches its furthest north position in the sky and starts moving back towards the south. As you reach the shortest day of the year the days ahead are longer and its time to celebrate with a winter solstice lunch.
The lunch will feature local sustainably grown duck and Pinot Noirs from the Kiltynane Estate premium range new release, 2013 Pinot Noir and 2014 Chardonnay. This intimate event, which embraces the quintessential marriage in heaven of duck and Pinot Noir, will be held in the Basils Farmhouse dining room, by the open log fire.
Kiltynane Wines Wine Director Kate Kirkhope will introduce the wines and discuss the food matching and the terroir that gives the Pinots their sublime spice characteristics.
